We are recruiting educators and health educators in training for the MPC: VISTA research study. Participants receive $300 for their time. Participants are assigned to one of three groups. All activities are remote.
Who is eligible to participate in the MPC: VISTA study
You may be eligible if you meet the following criteria:
- Are an educator or health educator in training (including MPH students, pre-service health educators, or community health workers)
- Work with, or plan to work with, adolescents
- Have not previously taught Making Proud Choices! or any other Jemmott curriculum (BPBR, MAD, PHAT, Sisters Saving Sisters, Power Through Choices)
- Have 3 years or fewer of experience teaching sex education
- Have access to a computer or device with video capability and a reliable internet connection
- Are 18 or older and English-speaking

Full MPC: VISTA training
Self-paced, online, with all eight simulation sessions included. MPC: VISTA group participants receive the training during the study. Waitlist participants receive it at no cost when the study ends.
All groups compensated equally
All participants receive $300 regardless of group assignment. Waitlist and Live Virtual Training participants also receive full access to MPC: VISTA at no cost when the study ends.
The three study groups
After completing the pre-study screener, survey, and virtual teachback, you will be randomly assigned to one of three groups:
MPC: VISTA
The virtual, asynchronous, interactive simulation training covering all eight MPC modules. Self-paced, completed on your own schedule.
Live Virtual Training
A live, Zoom-based virtual training session on the MPC curriculum, scheduled at a set time. Receive full access to MPC: VISTA at no cost when the study ends.
Waitlist
No training during the study period. Receive full access to MPC: VISTA at no cost when the study ends.
All three groups complete the same pre- and post-study activities and receive the same $300 incentive. All participants receive access to MPC: VISTA at the end of the study.
What participating in the MPC: VISTA research study involves
All study activities are conducted online. You complete them in your own time, with no need to travel or attend in-person sessions.

Compensation
All participants who complete their study activities receive a $300 gift card, regardless of which group they are assigned to. If you are assigned to the waitlist group, you also receive full access to MPC: VISTA at no cost when the study ends.
